We’re pleased to share that our founding principal, Eric Karsh, will be speaking at two events in Vancouver this week.

On May 13, Eric will deliver the Pinnacle Lecture at the 2026 SEABC Annual Dinner, hosted by the Structural Engineers Association of British Columbia. His talk, “A 30 Year Journey on the Leading Edge of Timber Engineering,” will reflect on three decades of advancing timber as a high‑performance structural material, drawing on lessons learned from projects across Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

Later this week, Eric will also take part in a France–British Columbia business roundtable, representing Canadian companies established in France. – Develop structural solutions that do more than just meet code… you will design structures that are strong, resilient, sustainable, and directly contribute to the architecture of the building.
– Perform structural analysis and develop designs from concept through construction with the support of the EQUILIBRIUM team.
– Communicate your designs to our drafting team and coordinate the development of structural BIM models and drawings.
– Have active involvement in design coordination with other consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders for your projects.

REQUIREMENTS

– Bachelor’s Degree from a Civil/Structural Engineering program required. Master’s degree preferred.
– Valid work status in Canada.
– P.Eng Designation with EGBC or equivalent Canadian / US designation.
– Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
– Knowledge of and experience with US codes is an asset.
– Interest in Mass Timber. Mass Timber experience is a bonus.
– Interest in embodied carbon and minimizing the climate impact of structural design.
– Seismic analysis and design experience an asset.
– Experience with structural analysis software such as RFEM, RSTAB, ETABS, SAFE, GSA, Tedds, RAM etc.
– Familiarity with Bluebeam.
– Sound knowledge of timber, steel, concrete, and hybrid construction.
